What We Do

At Oceania Pride, we champion the rights, dignity, and freedom of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and questioning (LGBTIQ+) people across Fiji and the Pacific.

Drawing upon international human rights frameworks, we press for laws and policies that eliminate discrimination, violence, and exclusion based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

We engage schools, healthcare systems, cultural institutions, governments, and communities to ensure that LGBTQIA+ individuals enjoy full equality in education, health, family life, employment, and legal recognition.

Our Impact Areas: [Placeholder based on information in the constitution document]

  • Education & Awareness – Advocate for inclusive sex education, anti-bullying measures, and trained counselors in schools.
  • Equal Access to Health Care – Ensure non-discriminatory care, reproductive health rights, and recognition of same-sex partners in medical decision-making.
  • Legal & Policy Reform – Push for recognition of same-sex marriage and adoption, equal parental leave, and protection against hate crimes and harassment.
  • Youth & Opportunity – Create pathways for scholarships, sports participation, and safe environments free from exclusion and violence.
  • Human Rights & Advocacy – Defend freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and the work of human rights defenders in the face of discrimination or threats.
  • Community Inclusion – Foster dialogue across cultural groups to build a society that embraces diversity and values equality for all.

By advancing these priorities, Oceania Pride is working toward a future where every person, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can live authentically, free from fear and full of opportunity.
